The main villa dates back to the 1400's and has been owned for centuries by the Counts Mandosi Mignanelli and then inherited by one of their granddaughters, Resy Fani Ciotti. Situated in an elevated position in the Val d'Elsa in the rolling Tuscan valleys between Siena and Florence, Villa Collato offers access to all the cultural and gastronomic experiences Tuscany is famous for, as well as relaxing in the countryside setting and the meticullously tended gardens.

A historic 13 bedroom Tuscan villa

The main Villa offers 13 bedrooms and sleeps 26 guests, with the Dependence offering a further 3 bedrooms and the Countess Flat can be added by special arrangement, offerng a further 2 bedrooms, making it posible to accommodate up to 36 guests in air conditioned comfort.

Each bedroom is elegantly furnished with comfortable beds, antique furniture and artworks reflecting the aristocratic heritage of the property. Bedlinens and fabrics are of the hghest quality and bathrooms feature marble and ceramic tiles, with large baths and showers.

On the ground floor, a vast hall leads to not one, not two, but three interconnecting dining rooms, each furnished with elegant antique tables for formal or informal dining, plus a beautiful vaulted-ceiling salon with open fireplace and comfotable sofas and chairs. There are other lounges on various floors as well as a games and billiards room.

The professional kitchen is large and fully equipped, where staff can organise cooking classes and prepare traditional or gastonomic meals for guests. There is also a family room with fridge, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine for guests' use.

Life under the Tuscan sun

As this is Tuscany, some of the most used spaces are outside, where there are several terraces and locations for alfresco dining, with enchanting views of the Tuscan countryside, including a space for barbecues.

The glorious 16x8m (52x26ft) pool is the centrepiece of the stone pool terrace, surrounded by a dozen comfortable sun loungers in the shade of umbrellas and a gazebo. A heated jacuzzi and a sauna are both close by and all are served by an outside bar for cocktails and sundowners.

Table tennis and the tennis court are also very popular with guests.

Included in the rental is a director who speaks four languages, four maids and waiters and a gardener, all for six days per week. Also included is a welcome dinner, breakfast daily and a twice a week change of bed linen. Extra services are available, including a cook, gastronomic chef and seventh day maid serve at reasonable extra cost.

Cooking classes and wine tasting from the extensive cellar can also be arranged at the villa.

Offsite activities can also be easily organised, from restaurant bookings to winery visits, horse riding, mountain biking, golf and hot air ballooning.

For family celebrations or special events, guided tours of Montalcino, boat trips to Monte Argentario, fireworks, DJ and musical performances and even an orchestra can be arranged.
