Le Ripe

Le Ripe is an elegant, gracious and extremely well-run Tuscan luxury villa in a truly exceptional setting. Its elevated position offers stunning views over the rolling hills of the Val d'Orcia towards Tuscany's highest mountain, Monte Amiata. With two hectares of well tended gardens, leading towards a distant horizon, the sense of space is mesmerising.

We have spent many happy summer afternoons and evenings enjoying this view from the loggia with family and friends and a glass or three of chilled Cevaro (Castello della Sala is just over the border with Umbria) to enhance the experience. There are few better places in the world to unwind.
Le Ripe, pronounced 'Le Ree-pay', is conveniently situated close to San Casciano dei Bagni, a stylish Val d'Orcia village with lovely shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. Citta dei Pieve is not far and Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino are all within easy driving distance.
Once the sun drops below the horizon, San Casciano comes to life and draws you in. Ristorante Daniela is our favourite place to be, with good Tuscan fare, a great wine list - featuring well-priced local Brunello's, Vino Nobiles and super-Tuscans - and a lively al-fresco atmosphere spilling out into the square. For Michelin-starred dining, Castello Fighine is just outside town, up a 'strada bianca' track in a beautiful hilltop position. Here the food and service is as outstanding as the wisteria-covered terrace setting. Heinz Beck - of three Michelin star Le Pergola fame - oversees talented Gianlucca Renzi in the kitchen, where the seven course tasting menu is a must.
Back at Le Ripe, there is space galore and flexible options for renting just the main house, to sleep up to 7, or the main house and the guest house which can expand to spacious accommodation for up to 14 in seven heavenly bedrooms.
Friends and family with children will not have to compromise on amenities. There is a fenced-in pool, AC in the bedrooms and WiFi on the loggia. This Tuscan villa becomes your home upon on arrival with attentive housekeeper and Antoinietta, the excellent chef, available as required. Le Ripe offers grace, space, refinement and warm hospitality.
It is no surprise then, that Le Ripe is popular for long and short rentals with families, groups of friends, musicians and famous actors and actresses. It's the easy combination of privacy, generous indoor and outdoor space, views, excellent facilities, exemplary staff and close proximity to the lovely village of 'San Casc' that makes for a stress-free and enjoyable vacation in a truly beautiful setting.
Having spent a week there again last summer, we can thoroughly recommend Le Ripe!
