If you are looking to explore the magic of Le Marche, or just relax in peaceful privacy, Casale Mignola offers the perfect blend of ancient and modern, set in a beautiful hilltop position outside Cingoli, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
Ths is an ancient farmhouse, recently completely renovated to offer everything you would want in a luxurious villa, ina spectacular hilltop setting, with views to infinity and beyond. With five en-suite double bedrooms, the villa can comfortably accommodate 10, and is open year-round.
Villa Mignola is situated a couple of kilometers from the medieval town of Cingoli, a place often referred to as 'the balcony of the Marche' because of its extraordinary views over the region. Here, there is much to explore and discover about one of the most under-rated regions of Italy, that we simply adore.
The villa
Casale Mignola comprises two buildings set in 8 hectares of grounds, where the owner has planted 1000 olive trees in an intriguing landart project and 200 mignola's (from where the villa derives its name), half of which are over 50 years old.
The main house has been rebuilt following traditional Marche architectural style, but with a modern twist inside. Every room offers spectacular views over the stunning landscape.
Downstairs there is a vast 50sqm open-plan kitchen, designed by 'Ideal Cucina' equipped with Ariston stainless steel appliances, 2 barbecues and a 3.5m 'sartorial' table from north-west Italy that can seat 14. Floors are stone and original wooden beams contrast with the minimalist design. The kitchen leads out onto the alfresco dining terrace with more mesmerising views.
The living room is furnished with Italian designer furniture from 'Caccaro' and 'Focus' and the billiard room features a fully restored classic table from the 1950s.
A glass and stone staircase takes you to the first floor where there are four double bedrooms with polished wooden floors, original wooden beams and antique beds. All bathrooms are ensuite with rain showers and feature contemporary finishes.
The second building is the dependence, a contemporary structure which offers extra privacy for one couple, with a studio living room including its own kitchen and one double en-suite bedroom.
Infinity and beyond
With 2 hectares of grounds, living alfresco is the lifestyle for much of the year. The stunning infinity pool provides astonishing views across the rural lanscape to the horizon and the pool terrace is equipped with sunloungers, umbrellas and 2 double day-beds.
A shaded dining terrace provides the perfect spot for lunch or dinner under the stars, with lawns leading down to 1000 olive trees, planted in mathmatical patterns as Land Art, inspired by the Golden Ratio using the Fibonacci formula.
From every corner of the property, the views are breathtaking.
Villa services
We can organise a wonderful cook who will introduce you to the flavours of Le Marche and even teach you a few recipies, if you would like. A speciality of the region is polenta, but the cuisine is varied and based on the freshest high quality ingredients, which, in autumn include the famous Le Marche truffles.
The villa is set in beautiful grounds with a covered pergola with dining table for 10, an infinity pool (10x15mt) and a heated pool (4x2mt). Gas, electricity, wifi and heating are free of charge. All bedrooms have air conditioning and bed linen and pool towels are provided. The villa is cleaned on checkout and there is car parking available. The manager is easily contactable and can provide information about excursions and extras.
A security deposit of €1,000 is required. Extra towels or extra cleaning can be arranged at your convenience.

Exploring Le Marche
For most, Le Marche's secrets are unfamiliar, but this is a charming, beautiful and historically important region that deserves to be discovered.
Casale Mignola is the perfect base to explore the magic of Le Marche, from nearby Cingoli to the Conero National Park, the Sibillini mountains and the lovely 'Beach of two Sisters' on the Adriatic Coast.
And then there is Le Marche's longstanding tradition of winemaking, especially the Verdicchio wines from Cupramontana and Castelli di Jesi. The best of these wines are hugely underrated and so, for the moment at least, offer outstanding quality and reasonable prices. Wine tours can easily be arranged.
There are so many good restaurants we could mention, again offering the authentic, fresh flavours of Le Marche and, again, exceptional value. We have a full list of recommendations, but one of our favourites is Ristorante Giubbi Belvedere in the village of Staffola.
