Nairobi is known as the safari capital of Africa and is a fantastic introduction and conclusion to your 5-star safari adventures. It is a vibrant urban-minded city, but with world-class luxury hotels dotted around its verdant suburbs.
From Nairobi, it is just a short flight from spectacular wildlife safaris, such as: Solio Lodge, located between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains; Sasaab in Samburu in the Northern Frontier District towards Mount Kenya; and the vintage jewel, &Beyond Bateleur, in the Masai Mara.
Nairobi has also become a magnet for tech start-ups and some of the world’s biggest corporations trying to gain a foothold in Africa. The city is surprisingly beautiful with lush tree-lined suburbs and, for much of the time, a near-perfect climate with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. It’s noticeably multicultural encapsulating Africa’s renaissance better than any other city on the continent. Whilst there is new construction, a thriving population, insane traffic, and more and more global businesses, you can still feed giraffes at a sanctuary and visit baby elephants, and even adopt one, all from within the city limits. You will also see Maasai warriors ordering lattes in red blankets, alongside smartly dressed city folk.
