Villa Angela

This property is an ancient trullo (a round house with a conical roof) in the heart of Puglia's Salento region in south eastern Italy. Villa Angela is very close to Ostuni and Alberobello - the capital of trulli - and just twenty minutes from Brindisi airport and the white-sand shores of the beautiful Adriatic coast.

The villa is composed of 11 cones, providing each room with it own high-vaulted ceiling. There are four bedrooms, three bathrooms and three living rooms, providing plenty of space for a family of eight to relax and enjoy this distinctive architecture. The interiors are sleekly contemporary, with designer furniture and and elegant finishes.

The stone courtyards on either side of the trullo, provide spacious outdoor seating areas, furnished with sofas, tables, sun umbrellas, and outdoor catering facilities for al fresco living. The gardens extend into a typical maquis shrubland and orchard oasis with more than 800 trees, including: olive, almond, plum and walnut trees. The spectacular swimming pool (14x7 meters) is lined entirely with sapphire blue mosaics.

The property is situated in an oasis of pure beauty, with the apulian countryside fading into the sea in the distance. These surroundings offer picturesque views of extraordinary colour and variety, with the plateau and hillside dotted with light, silvery green olive groves and vineyards which feed the Italian nation’s demands for wine and olive oil. Salento, the heel of Italy’s boot, offers simple but delicious local delicacies, with fresh fish and seafood in abundance. Its high production of durum wheat has led to many pasta varieties that can be hard to find anywhere else.

Puglia’s white-washed Medieval settlements and Baroque churches offer a striking contrast to the fresh agricultural canvas, and the deep, navy blue backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea. Nearby sites include the Ostuni Cathedrala and Bishop’s Palace, with a history that is over 1000 years old, and the numerous Salento watch towers that dot the coastline in various stages of ruin.

Villa Angela is the perfect trullo experience in Italy's up and coming region.
