Casa Olivi

This recently restored ancient farmhouse is set in the little explored Le Marche region of Italy, east of Tuscany on the Adriatic Coast. With rolling hills, sea views and olive groves, guests have the exquisite countryside at their fingertips, yet within 5 minutes you can be in the nearest town, Treia, or dining at a well-known gourmet restaurant, with Macerata and the sandy beaches of the Adriatic just 20 minutes away.

The farmhouse retains its ancient facade but Swiss architects, Markus Wespi and Jerome de Meuron, have transformed the interiors into an inspiring minimalist space, offering a uniquely contemporary take on Italian farmhouse living. Casa Olivi has been featured in Elle Decoration and Cote Sud Magazines and, as a result, is always booked early for the summer season.

Casa Olivi offers interiors flooded with light and carefully specified finishing touches such as bathrooms from Phillipe Starck, DVD home theatre, a Bose system on the terrace and a stunning infinity pool bring the farmhouse to the cutting-edge of contemporary living. Lavishly spacious and comfortable, guests can gather in one of the many different indoor or outdoor spaces, including the terrace, pool area, pergola shaded outside kitchen and dining area or the living room with its stunning home theatre.

Bedroom accomodation comprises 4 en-suite bedrooms in the main house and a one-bedroomed guesthouse with its own bathroom. With one three-bedded room ideal for children, the villa can comfortably sleep 11.

Casa Olivi is a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding areas; Treia is only five minutes away, while Macerata, with its open air summer opera festival, is 20 minutes away. The white sandy beaches of the Adriatic Coastline are also close at hand, while the up-and-coming wines of the region, plus super-Tuscan's of Tuscany and Umbria are easily in reach.

Gianna, an Italian "mamma", who excels at preparing the finest local dishes using the freshest ingredients, is available as a private chef. House cleaning and maintenance, pool cleaning, gardening, WiFi, pool heating in cooler months and air conditioning in summer are all included in the rental price.

We can organise private wine tastings with passionate sommeliers Amy and Mirco (who carefully select the wines) and even dinners cooked by Michelin-starred chefs, Errico Recanati or Michele Biagiola.

Cooking lessons, pecorino tastings and truffle hunting in season can all also be arranged, while a 4x4 Land Rover Defender can be hired by the day.

There is a local bar within a 2km walk and the famous gastronomic restaurant "Il Casolare dei Secreti" is just 3.5 kms away.
