5-star safari guide to the Kruger National Park

For many people, it’s South Africa’s wildlife that appeals above and beyond anything else. South Africa is in the forefront of wildlife conservation; with some 1000 national parks and private game reserves spread right across the subcontinent. The country is of course, known as a ‘big 5 destination’, but the other animals that thrive here such as wild dogs, cheetahs, hyena and a host of antelope, are equally as intriguing.

The Western Cape may well be the gateway to Africa, being geographically blessed with beautiful mountains, vibrant oceans, lush farmland and dreamy vineyards but the rest of South Africa is equally diverse and fascinating.

Royal Malewane is a luxurious private game reserve within Thornybush game reserve, situated on the western fringe of the Kruger National Park. &Beyond Dulini River Lodge is the only safari bushcamp in the Sabi Sands private game reserve positioned near the water, in a spectacular position overlooking the river itself, where elephants, giraffe and other big 5 game come to refresh themselves.

We are in the process of selecting more fabulous wildlife reserves as our travel editor has visited many throughout her life, but they just seem to get better and better and at quite a pace. We will keep you updated with all our new partners as soon as we have visited and reviewed them. We are absolutely dedicated to bringing you the very best of the best.
