5-Star X-Factors

Stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and a wonderful French restaurant, plus the owners Edward and Tara are extremely warm and welcoming

Heaven in the low Atlas Mountains

Located 30 minutes outside Marrakech, The Capaldi offers a tranquil escape from the hubub of the bustling city. Once through the unassuming gates, you enter an unparallelled haven of peace and tranquility. Under 12s are strictly prohibited, so this is a grown-up holiday encouraging pure relaxation...

The owners Ed and Tara have created a sublime hotel in the Capaldi, and their constant dedication to ensuring their guests have the most memorable experience is wonderfully refreshing. They really do care, and the devil truly is in the detail here. Each of The Capaldi's 23 incredibly generous sized rooms and suites are adorned with rich fabrics and antiques in earthy tones, while the two pool suites impress with private pools, open fireplaces and five-star seating areas. There are also two large pools for guests, one of which is always heated, and endless nooks to set up camp for the day, cocktail and/or book in hand, in complete privacy.

One of the highlights of The Capaldi is its exquisite restaurant which boats some of the best food in the whole of Marrakech. People travel from far and wide to sample the European cusine, best enjoyed on the roof terrace with breathtaking views of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains.

There’s so much to see and explore in the area, from dune buggying in the Agafay desert and paragliding, to unforgettable hot air balloon rides, as well as lovely walks straight from the hotel to Lake Lalla Takerkaust. Ed and Tara even supply you with a hand drawn map, and a preprogrammed mobile incase you get lost. Having said that, we struggled to leave the sumptous spa, which offers the most glorious traditional Moroccan hammam ritual, as well as massages, facials and mani-pedis, at prices that feel almost like theft!
