Check-In Procedure
If you have purchased your ticket directly in Peru at one of our train stations no check-in is necessary and you should arrive at the station 30 minutes prior to departure of your train service.
Special Check-In Procedure for Online Purchases:
Seats on our trains are only allocated 48 hours before departure of the train. Upon booking online you will be provided with an e-receipt for your purchase. You must keep this receipt and take it with you to Peru. The receipt alone is NOT valid for travel.
Once you have arrived in Peru, you will need to exchange your e-receipt for the embarkation card. Please ensure you arrive at the station one hour prior to departure for this procedure.
The following are the stations you must go to in order to take your train.

* No ticketing office available in this train station.
You must present your ticket and identification when boarding the train. In case of children with no identification card, traveling with adults, PeruRail will presume that all data provided by the adult is true.
If you refuse to show a valid identity document, in order to verify the ticket information, you will be disembarked or may not be allowed to board. In such a case no reimbursement shall be made. |
Luggage Check-In
• Trains to - from Machu Picchu
- If you have various pieces of luggage we recommend you store them in your hotel and only use an overnight bag as luggage space is limited on the trains. - A special service will soon be available for the people who prefer to store their bags at the train station at additional cost. Please consult the website regularly for news on this upcoming service improvement. - If you need to take more than one piece of luggage to Machu Picchu, a special train service will be available to transport extra luggage, at an additional cost. • Trains between Cusco and Puno
The Andean Explorer has a luggage carriage, therefore if you are travelling with various pieces of luggage we recommend you come to the station one hour prior to your departure in order to check in your luggage. No extra cost will be charged for your luggage on this route. |
