Second Phase of Renovation at Grand Hotel Europe |
May 2007 - The most highly regarded St. Petersburg hotel has accomplished the second phase of the upgrading and refurbishing project started in the year of the hotel's 130th anniversary. It involved the renovation of 90 of the hotel's rooms and suites, the main entrance's upgrade and a new concept for the Caviar Bar and Restaurant's interior.
During the second phase, 90 guest rooms and suites were completely refurbished, whilst retaining their turn of the last century decor making the total of 200 renovated hotel rooms.
The hotel's main entrance was significantly upgraded, its pavement was finished in granite with special heating to keep off the snow. The canopy was extended into the Mikhailovskaya ulitsa to allow cars to park under cover. The hotel now also offers a new service - valet parking, and truly unique lighting adds to the beauty of the facade originally designed by famous Italian architect Carlo Rossi.
