Johannesburg enjoys some of the best weather in the world with a predominance of sunny blue skies throughout the year.  The warm spring and hot summer months (September  - March) are characterized by frequent thundershowers in the afternoons, followed by clear skies and long, cool evenings.  The crisp winter weather (June – August) is dry and sunny, with cool frosty mornings warming up to pleasant midday highs in the mid- to high teens.  As temperatures can vary dramatically in both summer and winter, visitors are advised to adopt a layered approach to dressing throughout the year.
