The Dogaressa Suite
The Dogaressa Suite is named after the First Lady of the Republic of Venice, the Dogaressa Loredana Mocenigo Marcello (wife of Alvise Mocenigo CXVIII Doge of Venice), who owned a princely, renaissance-style garden on Giudecca Island in 1500. Close to this property rose Palazzo Vendramin. The Dogaressa Suite produces the same emotions of a Canaletto painting depicting the colours and enchanting nuances of a poetic Piazza San Marco, framed by the imposing Palazzo Ducale and the bewitching Riva degli Schiavoni.
The Dogaressa is located on the Piano Nobile of Palazzo Vendramin, right opposite St. Mark's Square and the world-famous piazza appears through its four gothic windows.
The sitting room, the largest in the Palazzo, is decorated with original eighteenth Century Coromandel screens, antique Chinese lamps, Fortuny and Rubelli fabrics. The airy bedroom, overlooks peaceful gardens; a spacious corridor leads to an elegant pink-marble bathroom. 2007 Rates:
