This place has become "the rendez-vous" of Parisians. The Bar 228 seduces thanks to its cosy atmosphere such as in Britain clubs, as it would like to wink at the customers who came first to Le Meurice. Totally reinterpreted by Philippe Starck in December 2007, its warm and felted decoration remains faithful to its origins, with its stools and chairs in wood. The atmosphere is subtly warmed by the crackling glow of tobacco shades and highlighted by the sparkle of rare crystal decanters, to be filled at leisure. An exceptional moment to share…
Like the festive night scene at Château de Fontainebleau portrayed in the three restored Lavalley paintings hanging on its walls, the Bar 228 offers guests an ideal respite, complete decadent cocktails and lavish décor. The evening sky gives the bar a cozy-but-rich feeling. This, as well as the more than 50 whiskies and malts available, will warm guests throughout the year.
300 drinks are available and among them, 17 exclusive creations, such as the cocktail Starcky or 228.
Just perfect for a quick lunch, but still really well presented. Parisians say it serves the best club sandwiches of the capital! Or you can also try the "Croque Meurice", which is the "deluxe" version of the traditional croque-monsieur. Bon appétit…
Open every day from 12 a.m to 2 a.m.
Each night, two jazz musicians thrill the soul of Le Meurice, from 7 p.m to midnight. The pianist is accompagnied by a bass guitarist, a guitarist or a drummer.
