WINE CELLAR TASTING DINNERS AND TOURS 2012
Wine tasting dinners has proved very popular with many of our clients in the past. Our award winning Sommelier Lisa O’Doherty, can provide assistance with the initial set up, concept, agree menu food and wine matching and costing. On the evening Lisa will give a talk and a tour of our wine cellar, followed by a brief talk before each course at dinner.
Cellar tours and/or wine tasting are another area of interest as a pre dinner activity or a fun way to pass a few hours. The wine cellar at The K Club was built by an infamous Bordeaux family, the Barton's and remains a wonderful atmospheric space to explore, full of dusty bottles and hidden treasures such as our 1928 Beychevelle and the biggest collection of Chateau Petrus in Ireland.
Both of these options are designed as a fun and informal evening, the wine tasting and cellar tour make a great alternative to pre dinner drinks for corporate events and monthly wine dinners.
Lisa’s clients for wine dinners and wine tasting include N.C.B. Stockbrokers, Sutton Golf Club, Sanofi Aventis, and The National Concert Hall.
WINE CELLAR TOUR FOR UP TO 30 GUESTS
Guests are met in the Old Entrance Hall and walked to our wine cellar
Glass of Champagne per person served in the wine cellar
Canapés can be served also
On completion of the tour, guests are shown back to reception to continue evening

Meet with organiser prior to event
Max. 16 people for tasting in wine cellar.
16 people or above tasting to be held in other function room with tours of wine cellar prior to tasting
WINE TASTING FOR 16 PEOPLE OR BELOW
Tasting to commence in reception, meet and greet guests
Guests to be shown to wine cellar accompanied by Sommelier
On entrance to wine cellar a brief history of House and cellar is given
Guests will get a walking tour of the cellar to include fine wine cellar, Lascombe's Cellar and Port Cellar
Guests will congregate in front section of wine cellar
Tasting will commence
Tasting and tour take approx. 1 ½ hours
On completion of tasting a brief Q & A session
Guests will be shown back to reception to continue evening
WINE TASTING FOR 16 OR MORE GUESTS
Tour to commence in reception, meet and greet guests
Guests to be shown to Old entrance hall where two groups will be formed
First group to be shown to wine cellar, second group to be given glass of Champagne
First group will commence tour of wine cellar, including history and tour
On completion first group returns to entrance hall for Champagne reception and second group begins tour
On completion of both tours guests are brought to The River Room Restaurant for tasting
Tasting and tours take approx. 1 ½ hrs
After tasting a brief Q & A session will be held
Guests will then be shown back to reception to continue evening
WINE DINNER
As above champagne and canapés in the cellar- groups of 30 only allowed at one time- groups may be split depending on nos.
On completion of tour guests are shown to their chosen function room. Before each course sommelier stands up and gives a short talk about each wine served with dinner. This is a more informal approach and suits larger groups
