Children’s Sport and Education
This programme is run in collaboration with the Football Foundation of South Africa (www.football-foundation.com). It entails a community development project that uses the power of sport to address important social issues, promote integration, improve physical and mental health, and create environmental awareness. Football, netball, hockey and athletics coaching form part of the programme, along with education programmes in computers, HIV/AIDS and the environment. The Foundation also assists at the local crèche, and coaches in surrounding communities Stanford and Hermanus.
The project was developed due to various social challenges and the lack of sporting facilities and educational programmes for children in the area.

Green Futures
Green Futures Horticulture and Life Skills College is a one year, accredited training programme in Horticulture and gardening for unskilled people from local communities. The course entails a theoretical, practical and life skills component, and aims to give students the necessary skills to find employment upon completion of the course. The course is provided at no cost to the students and has a self-sustainable business model through landscaping services and a nursery.
The course was developed as a possible solution to the very high unemployment rate in South Africa, as well as a severe shortage of people with the practical and theoretical experience to develop indigenous private or public gardens.
Growing the Future
Growing the Future is a one year, accredited training programme in food production and sustainable harvesting for unskilled women from the local communities. The course entails a theoretical, practical and life skills component and aims to give women the skills to develop and maintain vegetable gardens. The women are trained in the growing of vegetables and fruit, beekeeping and the principles of successful animal husbandry. Similar to Green Futures, the course is free of charge and is self-sustainable through the selling of the food products.
The aim of the course is to empower women to be able to provide for their families, find employment or start their own business.
