The Ancient Klipgat Caves
Your guide will furthermore open a window into pre-historic times by visiting Klipgat Cave. For at least 80 000 years our human ancestors have lived along the Walker Bay coastline. The Klipgat Cave provided the perfect shelter. This ideal location offered easy access to food from the sea, abundant fresh drinking water from a nearby spring and protection from the harsh coastal winds.
Archaeologists have uncovered some remarkable information regarding the way of life of these early inhabitants through excavations in the Klipgat Cave. Accompany our guide on an interpretative tour of the Klipgat Cave and learn about the fascinating history of the early inhabitants.
