Grand Hotel Europe is located in the heart of St. Petersburg, the cultural centre of Russia and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Just off Nevsky Prospekt, the hotel is within easy walking distance of all major attractions. Across the street, you’ll find the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan and the elegant arcades of Gostiniy Dvor department store. As you walk down toward the golden spire of the Admiralty, you’ll soon spot the monumental Palace Square, lined by the Tsars’ former Winter Palace and the famous Hermitage.
Grand Hotel Europe sits on Arts Square, dominated by a monument to Russia’s national poet, Alexander Pushkin. The square is at the centre of a 19th-century architectural ensemble including the Russian Museum, which boasts the largest collection of Russian art in the world. Also within a few paces of the hotel are the St Petersburg Philharmonic and the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
Just around the corner are the soaring onion domes of the Church of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood, one of the city’s most photogenic monuments.
