The Antica Drogheria Mascari is the oldest grocery shop in Venice, a true point of reference for cooking enthusiasts.
Here shoppers can find spices, aromatic herbs, all types of tea from all around the world and natural food colouring, wine and liqueur, oil and all types of vinegar, as well as sweets and biscuits.
The spice display is perhaps the most striking on account of its incredible variety, the care with which they are presented, the accuracy of the details and the colour combinations.
There are around 600 wines in stock from every Italian region.
In addition to the best balsamic vinegars, there are special vinegars such as honey or Champagne vinegar, as well as the best extra-virgin olive oils from the Italian regions of Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Apulia and Lake Garda.
There are also more than fifty types of honey and around thirty varieties of tea, a number of herbal and medicinal teas, coffee, malt and roasted barley drinks.
