PLAZA RED BICYCLE (on complimentary basis)
The bicycle has arrived in Paris! Starting with Vélib, the new city-wide bicycle renting program, travelling on two wheels is the hottest way to explore the City of Lights. Hôtel Plaza Athénée is now offering you a piece of the action with “the Plaza touch”: a chic and comfortable geranium-red bicycle with all the trimmings.
Based on a Dutch model, the bicycle combines luxury and practicality. Cheery red paniers are attached to either side of the rack, permitting cyclists to tote that day’s shopping back to the hotel. An elegant golden bike lock comes with a matching key that can be worn around the neck, and a Plaza-red helmet ensures safety without sacrificing style.
Just imagine! The freedom of taking a leisurely ride along the Seine, sun shining overhead…
The bicycles are available through the concierge team at Plaza Athénée. Upon special request, they are also available for purchase – a very special souvenir from the quintessential Parisian Palace.
THE WINE CELLAR
In 2000, world-famous chef Alain Ducasse set up his gastronomic restaurant at Hôtel Plaza Athénée and supervises all the catering to this day. Having worked alongside him, the sommelier Gerard Margeon has joined the Hotel’s team and now invites guests to master the arts of the dining table – the French way.
In September 2006, Hôtel Plaza Athénée’s cellar opened to the public and unveiled its secrets under the watchful eye of Gerard Margeon. The sommeliers offer the chance to taste a selection of the impressive 35,000 wine bottles, which include Château Cheval Blanc, Château Latour, Château Margaux Pétrus and Montrachet.
To broaden their knowledge, the wine-savvy will be able to inject more originality by introducing this as a motivational stay or a work seminar, allowing customers to explore the other side of the wine scene and find out some of Hôtel Plaza Athénée’s secrets.

Decouverte package at 150€: 6 wine tasting sessions + 1 “surprise” wine selected by

Connoisseur package at 250€: 8 wine testing sessions + 1 “surprise” wine selected by
sommelier Gerard Margeon with an engraved Plaza Athénée cellar glass.
Ambassade package at 500€: 10 wine testing sessions + 1 “surprise” wine selected by sommelier Gerard Margeon with an engraved Plaza Athénée cellar glass.
Every session is served with breads and cheeses.

THE ICE RINK
Hôtel Plaza Athénée Paris is renowned for looking after its younger clientele as impeccably as its more mature guests. So this Christmas, the Plaza Athénée has come up with a special creation to make winter in the heart of Paris truly unforgettable.
La Cour Jardin, Paris’ most famous and elegant dining courtyard by summer, is transformed every year into a custom-made ice-rink during the months of December and January exclusively for the guests of the hotel.
The childhood memories of a fairytale Christmas can be re-lived and children are able to experience a traditional winter wonderland under a crisp Parisian sky, skating within the beautiful courtyard. Fir trees twinkling with magical fairy lights surround the rink for a truly seasonal experience that children are sure to remember for years to come.
