Overview

Rancioli is a beautifully restored Tuscan farmhouse, surrounded by the unspoiled Val d'Orcia countryside. The villa's design-savvy owner, who runs an art gallery in Rome, has combined traditional Tuscan materials with contemporary flair. It's the perfect base to explore the Tuscan countryside.

Rancioli stretches across an open hillside with a view of Mount Cetona and lush forests of oak trees. The broad lawns contain a new grapevine-covered pergola, a canvas-covered dining patio and a large pool set on a partially shaded slope facing an olive grove.

Each room respects the original architecture; handmade terracotta floors, tempera-painted ceilings and rough stucco walls are complemented by carefully selected pieces of art. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and the excellent house chef whips up classic local dishes.
