Overview

• - A stunning, luxurious 400 year old, 600 sqm farmhouse located at the top of a Tuscan hill completely private with 360 degree views of the stunning Chianti countryside.
• - Recently refurbished to the highest standards - with travertine floors, handmade tiles, contemporary furniture and modern art.
• - Comprises two sitting rooms (one with a magnificent fireplace and bar area), a large kitchen, an expansive air conditioned dining room, games room, gym, five double bedrooms all with ensuite facitilites and air conditioning. All bedrooms are large enough to accommodate infant cots, the courtyard bedroom has a double sofa bed and the twin room has two extra single beds. Towels, toiletries and hairdryers are available in all the rooms.
• - Two hectares of garden with large (12m x 6m) infinity edge swimming pool, surrounded by a terrace with pool furniture and towels.
• - The outside spaces include a huge central courtyard containing a barbeque and pizza oven, a pergola covered dining terrace and a 'bar zone' terrace with outdoor furniture leading from the large sitting room and overlooking the infinity edge pool.
• - The Italian designer kitchen comprises a gas hob, two electric ovens, two dishwashers, a large fridge, a wine fridge and it leads to the adjoining utility room with washing machine and full laundry facilities.
• - Technology: large plasma TVs and DVD players (two), Bose ipod docking station, CD player, wi-fi. A great selection of films and programmes (in English) for all the family.

• - Gaiole in Chianti, with its 12th century origins is located in central Tuscany 40 km from Florence, 250km from Rome and 15km from Siena.

It is easy to understand why- the surrounding countryside is breathtaking, the nearby cities legendary and since the region produces some of the best food and wines in the world, the cuisine exceptional. It is a shoppers' dream with both designer shops and artisan crafts, for the active a wealth of sport is available and for those wanting a more restful time, Tuscany is Italy's most thermal region with 39 natural spas.

• - Le Pratola is designed to help all members of the family relax. For this reason the infinity edge pool has a remote controlled electronic safety cover and all windows have locks - perfect when children are around.
• - The games room includes games and puzzles for all ages, a pool table and football table.
• - High chairs, travel cots, microwave, bottle sterilizer and two child car booster seats are all available.
• - Outside there are swings and toys for the pool.
• - The open plan configuration is perfect for toddlers who just want to roam and explore.
• - A complimentary Toscana Grocery Delivery is available upon arrival when booking with Luxury Explorer, this includes local bread, fresh milk, butter, jam, fruit juice, water, tea, coffee, sugar and eggs as well as local delicacies, fresh fruit, vegetables and wine. In addition, we can arrange a Per Voi Grocery Delivery individually tailored to you which can include nappies, wipes, toiletries, meat, beer, wine, confectionary and desserts - all designed to enable you to immediately relax and acquaint yourselves to the region without needing to dash off to unfamiliar supermarkets.
• - Daily cleaning is included (kitchen and surfaces) and this can be upgraded to include the 'Beds and Bathrooms' service.

Ecologically responsible

Le Pratola has been restored so that it respects and enhances its spectacular environment. For this reason:

• - The underfloor heating and cooling system is wood powered.
• - The hot water is powered by solar panels.
• - The garden is irrigated by collected rainfall water.
• - Water drawn from the on-site well is sterilized and softened so good for consumption.

Transport and links

• - The nearest town to Le Pratola is Gaiole - 5km away - an attractive town with banks, supermarkets and delicatessens, a chemist, restaurants and bars, hardware store, clothing stores and gift shops. Other nearby towns are Siena - stunning with all facilities (15km), Radda in Chianti - a pretty hilltop town with a lovely children's play park (8km) plus lots of castles and wine estates are literally on the door step.
• - Tuscany is well served by international airports - fly into Florence (Vespucci airport), Pisa (Galilei airport), Perugia (San Egidio airport), Bologna (Marconi airport) or Rome (Fiumicino and Ciampino airports). In addition to London airports, it is possible to fly direct from some regional UK airports e.g. Glasgow, Liverpool, East Midlands.
• - Car hire is easy and all the major car hire companies have outlets in the main airports and cities.

Bespoke service

Le Pratola offers a completely bespoke holiday experience. In addition to groceries on arrival, optional extras include cooks, massages or yoga by the pool, a car and driver to take you on wine or other tours and more specialist in-house art and cookery courses. Rental notes and conditions

• - Saturday to Saturday rental period applies. The owner will consider rentals outside this period or for fewer days, but subject to other terms and availability.
• - Subject to a EUR1,500 breakages deposit - refundable 3 weeks after stay ends, subject to no damage and no outstanding monies.
• - 2 hours cleaning per day included (surfaces and floors). Weekly linen change and twice weekly bathroom linen change. All extras are at cost defined by owner and agreed upon booking. This includes additional cleaning, extra linen changes, laundry service, cooking, guided tours, driver etc.
• - Heat, gas, electricity and underfloor heating included in rental rates.
• - No stepping onto or tampering with the pool cover. We strongly recommend that the electronic pool cover is always used when children are on-site and the pool is not supervised by adults.
• - No tampering with the water, heating, gas or solar panel systems.
• - It is prohibited to take outside furniture designed for use indoors.
• - Care should be taken when walking around the grounds due to uneven surfaces and the rocky terrain.
• - Any spillages or damages should be promptly pointed out to Le Pratola's representative.
