St Martins Lane

For lovers of the arts this hotel's location is hard to beat.

St Martins Lane does not have a grand period exterior, however, this one comes with 7 storeys of floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing the theatre of London's West End to stage a constantly awesome performance, for perpetual viewing while the eclectic style of interiors never ceases to surprise, entertain and inspire the lucky luxe-trotter.

If London to you conjures up lashings of indigenous culture and West End cult; theatre, galleries, ballet, opera, Soho and Covent Garden, then look no further for your frette-cotton-sleep. This hotel is three minutes from the compulsory National Gallery, two minutes from the National Portrait Gallery, two minutes from the London Coliseum, 3 o'clock from the Noel Coward theatre and 9 o'clock from Starbucks. As with all of London right now, stores are competing for offers and Christmas sales are becoming the new January sales.

Dining in house at Asia de Cuba is not just good to look at... it's 'fabuliscious'. The room is stylishly chilled: columns of seemingly well-fingered and deeply relevant books, parted here and there by low lamps under tasselled shades, and columns covered with ethnic sepia photographs in varying sizes, divide the room with random ease. The lighting is soft to sultry, with bulbs hovering a few inches above the food while the funky furniture is languishingly cushioned. The cuisine is a tantalising Latino twist on the Orient, priced well and served up with polish. Enjoy at least one meal here...
