| The Heavenly Halkin
The Halkin is a purpose-built hotel, with a glorious Portland stone Georgian-styled façade.
It is supremely situated in the breast of Belgravia, on a broad, tree-lined, street that blows a tasteful patrician air while Sloane Street and Hyde Park are short strolls away. Inside, the hotel belies its genteel exterior, offering instead a contemporary 21st century comfort in soothing earth-and-element tones, as well as skilfully mastering the design concept of 'Space Expansion'. The Halkin is an urban retreat, a soothing balm for all, and a great escape from the crowds.
The hotel's Italian crafted rooms, suites and studios, in soft cream, taupe and honey are all themed with Mother Nature in mind while each floor draws its individual inspiration from the earth's elements. All the 41 rooms come with heavenly beds, smoothed in Egyptian cotton, beneath piles of soft goose-down pillows. The deeply luxurious all-marble bathrooms have walk-in showers, and cavernous cast iron tubs surrounded by Como Shambhala's therapeutic and 'bodyliscious' products.
Dining in at the Michelin-starred Thai restaurant, Nahm, is both a treat and an occasion. There are two ways to experience Thai food at Nahm: street-style (lunchtime) and royal- banquet style (dinner). Lunchtime offers the street menu and the latter is laid on lavishly in the evening. The Halkin is an ideal venue to meet up with friends or fellow shoppers in an atmosphere that defines stress busting.
